As the COVID-19 pandemic recently showed us, our world today can no longer survive without digital technology. If the 20th century saw the birth of the Digital Revolution era, also known as the Third Industrial Revolution, we are now at its peak as the digital and its derivatives have become essential to all aspects of our daily lives. From social networks to the arise of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFT), from digital platforms and media to virtual exhibitions and events, this talk will explore how the Digital World is revolutionizing our global approach to arts, culture and heritage, and will highlight the contribution of these new tools as a major opportunity for the African continent.
